1. Guidelines for the use of images

1.1 The images can be used for free when marketing or promoting Finland as a travel destination or as a country brand.

1.12. The images may be used in media (including travel guides and employee / customer magazines) when the content relates to Finland or a Finnish company or travel destination.

1.2. The images must not be used for commercial purposes such as products for sale (e.g. postcards, t-shirts or other merchandise). However, commercial use is permitted when the purpose is to promote travel to Finland or Finland as a destination (such as transport, accommodation or travel packages). Use for unrelated product or brand marketing is prohibited.

1.3. If the images contain or reproduce works of art or other copyrighted works, the user is responsible for clearing the rights with the copyright holder. Visit Finland is not responsible for clearing such third-party rights.

1.4. The photographer and Visit Finland must be credited (unless some other party is to be given the credit information). The credit must be clearly visible in reasonable proximity to the image or in a dedicated credits section.

1.5. Basic adjustments (cropping, resizing) are permitted, but images must not be otherwise manipulated. The images must not be altered or reproduced in a manner that may damage the photographer’s reputation.

1.6. Images may be used for the purpose for which they were downloaded. They may be stored and reused for the same or similar editorial or promotional context, provided these Terms and Conditions are followed. If the purpose of use changes significantly, the images must be downloaded again.

1.7. The images cannot be lent, sold, handed over or in any other way transferred to other parties without Visit Finland’s consent.

1.8. If the conditions for the use of the images are not complied with, the use may be invoiced at the individual photographer’s applicable rates. The user is solely responsible for all image use. The user is also required to hold Visit Finland harmless from claims from image copyright holders arising from any use which violates these Terms and Conditions.

1.9. Visit Finland reserves the right to refuse access to the photo bank and interrupt the right of use of a user of the photo bank, if any Photographs and Videos are used in any other purposes than provided in these terms.

1.10. Disputes concerning the interpretation or application of these Terms and Conditions shall be adjudicated under Finnish law by the District Court of Helsinki.

2. Guidelines for the use of videos

2.1. All video clips can be downloaded and used for free in low-resolution format. Video clips can be downloaded and used in their original form (with the Visit Finland logo) for the purpose of marketing and promotion of Finland as a tourism destination, or to create interest in and build the reputation of Finland as a tourism destination and nation. This permission does not apply when the object concerns television or cinema commercials.

2.2. The name of Visit Finland must always be credited whenever videos are displayed. Visit Finland’s approval is required in cases where the user/broadcaster is a commercial entity. This applies to the use of entire videos as well.

2.3. Videos may be edited (e.g. shortened or combined with other material) for promotional use, provided that the content is not misleading, does not damage Finland’s image or the photographer’s reputation, and remains in line with Visit Finland’s brand. If video clips and/or films contain/reproduce works of art or other copyrighted works, the user is responsible for clearing the rights with the copyright holder/Visit Finland.
