Visit Finland commissioned this report to find out about the position and potentials of Finland on the German holiday travel market.  The central aim is to get a thorough and complete picture on the volume, the structure, the attitudes and developments of the market potential in Germany, in order to provide a sound basis for the future strategic planning of the three destinations concerning their marketing efforts, product development and communication on this market.

8.6% (6 million) of the German population is interested in travelling to Finland in the next three years, 0.7% (0.5 million) have been visiting Finland in the past three years. The interest to travel to Finland is 12 times higher than the actual demand. This report will focus mainly on the detailed analysis of these potential travellers to Finland and how to convince them to actually plan a holiday to Finland.
